ZAND-AIR™ air cleaners
No matter how well you maintain your laboratory, your work area can be loaded with air pollutants like dust particles, mold spores, dander, pollen, dust mite excrement, viruses, bacteria, cleaning chemicals, carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from off-gassing plastic materials and paints.

All these have a direct impact on your results. Besides classical filtration and adsorption to, e.g., activated  carbon, the key to effective air purification is photo-catalytic oxidation (PCO). The PCO process results from  an interaction between UV C light (253.7 nm; no ozone generation) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) nano particles attached to a grid. Volatile organic compounds adsorbed on the TiO2 catalyst surface are oxidized and converted into benign compounds, finally water and carbon dioxide.

ZAND-AIR™ 100C Clean Air

Air filtration and photo-catalytic purification system, cleans the air from contaminants in four steps:

  1. An activated carbon filter with specially formulated gas adsorption media (including zeolite and potassium permanganate) adsorbs exhaust fumes, organic hydrocarbons, formaldehyde, cleaning chemicals, and other VOCs

  2. A hospital grade HEPA filter (≥ 99.97% efficiency on particles of 0.3 μm) removes pollen, mold, fungal spores, dust mite excrement, bacteria and other micro particles

  3. Photo-catalytic oxidation converts malign toxic compounds (even carbon monoxide and nitrous oxide) into benign constituents

  4. The clastogenic effect of ultraviolet light kills bacteria and viruses which are too small to be retained by the HEPA filter

ZAND-AIR PCOC™3 central air purification unit

The PCOC™ 3 is an encased unit to be fitted into the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air  conditioning) ducting. It consists of a series of three photo catalytic oxidation chambers (PCOC),  a remote service panel and has the option for a removable MERV-13 and potassium permanganate filter.

Air cleaning is done in two steps:
1.  Photo-catalytic oxidation converts malign toxic compounds (even carbon monoxide and nitrous oxide) into benign constituents
2.  The clastogenic effect of ultraviolet light kills bacteria and viruses which are too small to be retained by the HEPA filter

The optional potassium permanganate filter adsorbs any possible aldehydes remaining in the airflow.

Advantages:
• No accumulation of VOCs like in activated carbon filters, no saturation effects
• Central unit, effective in all rooms connected to the HVAC System
• Economic in maintenance

The ZAND-AIR PCOC™3 is to be used in conjunction with existing HEPA filter(s) which are still needed for fine particle removal. Installation must be done by local, professional contractors familiar with air heating and cooling systems to meet
all local regulations. One side of the PCOC™3 must be kept accessible for changing UV lamps and pre-filters.
